Wonder Box / Founded 2026

A little brightness.
A box of care.

A student-led care package initiative inspired by time spent supporting children and families in the hospital.

Where the idea began

Over two summers, I spent more than 88 hours as a Patient Ambassador at Connecticut Children's, helping patients, families, and medical staff. I noticed how much a small thing could change a child's day in the hospital.

Wonder Box grew from that observation. I wanted to turn the intention to help into something tangible: care packages planned around pediatric patients and their needs.

Who Wonder Box is for

The initiative is planning care packages for pediatric patients at Connecticut Children's and Yale New Haven Children's Hospital. Children in different age groups have different needs, so the package contents are being structured with that in mind.

How I am building it

I work directly with hospital Child Life and Volunteer Services teams on age-appropriate contents and distribution logistics. Their guidance helps connect the idea to the realities of the hospital setting.

The work behind each box
Listen to hospital teams.
Plan contents for different age groups.
Coordinate distribution logistics.
Raise funds through an online campaign.

Current stage

Wonder Box is in its fundraising and coordination phase. The focus is on planning with hospital teams and raising funds to support the initiative.

To really help people, you have to ask the ones who do this every day.

What this has taught me

Starting an initiative requires more than an idea. For me, it means asking questions, listening to experienced staff, and working through practical details. Wonder Box brings together my interests in healthcare, entrepreneurship, and community service.
